A Snapshot of Your Day

Become part of our motivated and multidisciplinary team for the development of industrial steam turbine blading. With global product responsibility in the industrial steam turbine network, our team is based at the Görlitz and Mülheim an der Ruhr locations.
You will work on the design and optimization of high-, medium- and low-pressure steam turbine blades. Design the roadmap for the further development of blading and the necessary technologies with us. The large number of interfaces to other areas such as purchasing, production, assembly, order processing, offers and sales give you exciting insights into our company.

How You’ll Make an Impact
  • You are part of the product and technology development for the complete blading path of industrial steam turbines
  • Design and optimization of the steam turbine blades, support in the creation and implementation of the blade and technology development roadmap
  • The focus of your work is numerical fluid mechanics, including 3D flow calculations, blade and profile optimization, efficiency optimization
  • Planning and evaluation of model and field measurements, analysis of experience feedback from the global steam turbine fleet
  • Creation and further development of design rules and conception, processing and supervision of research and development projects in cooperation with external research institutions and in Siemens Energy's internal international engineering network
  • You support the other areas such as purchasing, production, assembly, order processing, quotation, and sales

What You Bring
  • University degree in the field of turbomachinery, aerospace engineering, energy technology or similar and relevant turbomachinery experience
  • Many years of professional and project experience in the field of blade design
  • Very good knowledge of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, aerodynamics or aeroelastics
  • In-depth knowledge of numerical methods (CFD) for calculating and evaluating flow pattern and phenomena required, preferably using ANSYS CFX
  • Knowledge of mechanics desirable
  • You enjoy working in a dynamic team with transparent and open communication
  • Proficient in German and English
