A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Data Steward for Product Data, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that Siemens Energy’s data assets are managed in alignment with governance standards and best practices. You will actively support and participate in core data initiatives to increase the maturity of the product data domain. Your responsibilities will include supporting the implementation of the data governance framework, maintaining metadata and lineage, data modelling, improving data quality and collaborating with other data governance professionals and business stakeholders to guarantee FAIR data – findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Leverage Siemens Energy’s data governance framework across the data landscape of the PLM process and the product data domain, ensuring adherence to internal and external standards.
  • Actively drive data initiatives and support IT projects with data architecture expertise.
  • Build up metadata repositories and data lineage documentation to foster transparency and traceability of the applications in the product data domain.
  • Build logical, conceptual and semantic data models to improve the understanding and transparency of data connections across the system landscape.
  • Define and monitor product data related quality rules, ensuring trusted data is available for analytics and reporting.
  • Work closely with the data domain manager, other data stewards and business users to integrate governance practices into daily operations.
  • Promote data literacy and data governance awareness across GT.x

What You Bring

  • A university degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in data governance, data management, or compliance within enterprise environments.
  • Understanding of data governance frameworks, data quality and data modelling principles.
  • Experience in semantic web standards like RDF, OWL and SHACL for conceptual data modeling in the form of ontologies.
  • Strong knowledge of PLM, the product data domain and its interdependencies in an engineering environment
  • Familiarity with governance tools (e.g., Collibra), data catalogs and data modelling platforms and frameworks (e.g. ArchiMate) and semantic modelling (e.g. Protégé)
  • Programming experience in SQL, SPARQL, Python and experience in low-code ETL applications (e.g. Alteryx)
