A Snapshot of Your Day

As Tax and Customs Manager, you will be the first point of contact for business unit in respect of tax & custom matters and act as a liaison with external consultants and tax authorities.

How You’ll Make an Impact

         To act as first point of contact for all Tax and Customs matters for Japan (excluding personal tax matters) and act as liaison with external consultants and Regional Head of Tax.

         To provide support to CHR on personal tax matters (eg relating to delegation and employee share schemes)

         To provide timely and proactive advice to senior management and internal customers via internal communication or the PATAC process

         To ensure full corporate tax compliance for Japan (submission of tax accounting, WHT compliance, preparation of tax computation/tax returns including Direct and Indirect taxes, tax audits).

         To establish internal processes and procedures to manage exposure to tax/customs risks and to provide timely alerts where risks arise.   Assist with special projects.

         To oversee monthly tax reporting in E-tax

         To provide support on Customs matters and co-ordinate matters directly with Customs authorities.

         To support preparation of local transfer pricing documentation.

         To manage external tax audits and interface with fiscal authorities

What You Bring

         Minimum 10 years of experience in providing advice on tax matters.  Big 4 experience or large multinational experience desirable

         Strong knowledge in general tax and tax accounting updated on the latest development in tax.

         Exposure to Customs compliance

         Strong analytical skills and able to understand complex business transactions.

         Able to identify potential risks and suggest possible solutions or mitigating factors.

         Working experience in multinational companies with diverse range of product and services is desirable.

         Mature and persistent with strong communication.

         Good command of English in both written and verbal.
