A Snapshot of Your Day
Join us as a Commodity Manager for High Voltage Cables at Siemens Energy, where you will play a pivotal role in shaping our supply chain strategy. You will identify and qualify third-party suppliers, ensuring they meet our project and factory needs for high-quality cables and accessories. Collaborating with internal stakeholders, you will develop medium- and long-term sourcing strategies, negotiate complex contracts, and foster long-lasting partnerships that drive innovation and efficiency. Your expertise will ensure timely delivery and cost-effective solutions that align with our energy projects’ objectives.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers to build a robust pipeline that meets Siemens Energy’s project requirements for cost savings, quality, and timely delivery.
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with suppliers, ensuring performance standards are met while promoting innovation and continuous improvement.
- Lead the negotiation of complex contracts, ensuring favorable terms and compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements.
- Implement sourcing strategies that enhance cost-efficiency and quality for Siemens Energy’s global projects, ensuring transparency in material costs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering and quality, to support the global Cable commodity and drive supplier performance against key performance indicators (KPIs).
What You Bring:
- A university degree in Engineering (preferably Electrical Engineering), Business Administration, or a related field.
- Long term of professional experience in Strategic Procurement, Commodity Management, or related fields, with a strong track record in advanced negotiation and contract management, including experience with high-value and complex contracts.
- Proven project management experience
- Advanced analytical skills and risk management capabilities to ensure supplier performance, effective contingency planning, and the ability to assess market trends and their impact on procurement strategies.
- Proficiency in English at a minimum C1 level is essential; knowledge of German and additional languages is a plus, particularly in regions where key suppliers are located.
- Strong intercultural competencies to effectively engage with diverse teams and suppliers.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally approximately 30% of the time, with flexibility to accommodate urgent business needs.
