A Snapshot of Your Day

The Chemist in the innovation organization will be working in a highly motivated, experienced and interdisciplinary team responsible for driving the development of new products and technologies through creative and scientific approaches. This position involves conducting cutting-edge research, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and translating innovative ideas into practical applications that align with market needs and company goals. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including commercial leads, engineering, and end customers. Responsibilities include strong alignment of customer needs and business objectives to ensure that products fit into overall SE strategy and roadmap. The role involves technical support for supplier and customer meetings, managing R&D and innovation projects. The position requires a strategic thinker who will work closely with stakeholders in developing and shaping our products and services. 

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Lead and participate in innovative research projects aimed at developing new chemical products, processes, or technologies. 
  • Design and execute experiments to test hypotheses and validate new concepts. 
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and other scientists to integrate chemistry into product development. 
  • Analyze experimental data and present findings to stakeholders, including management and cross-functional teams. 
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and scientific advancements to inform innovative strategies. 
  • Develop and maintain documentation of research processes, results, and intellectual property. 
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices in laboratory operations. 
  • Manage project timelines and deliverables, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget. 
  • Problem Solving: Analyze and troubleshoot issues, providing effective solutions to enhance product performance and reliability. 

 

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field (Master’s or Ph.D. preferred). 
  • Proven experience in research and development, particularly in an innovation-focused environment. 
  • Strong creativity and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think outside the box. 
  • Familiarity with project management principles & experience in leading research initiatives is a plus. 
  • Proficiency in laboratory techniques, data analysis software, and relevant technologies. 
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with diverse groups of stakeholders and customers.  
  • Passion for innovation, customer-centricity, and continuous improvement. 
  • Highly detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Organized and methodical with excellent follow-up ensuring expectations and deadlines are met.
