A Snapshot of Your Day

We are seeking an experienced External Project Manager to lead our Controls & Digitalization projects for key clients in the energy sector. This role is pivotal in ensuring project execution excellence, acting as the primary point of contact for external customers and internal business units. The successful candidate will be responsible for the entire project lifecycle, from initial planning to final commissioning, ensuring all objectives are met while upholding the highest standards of quality and safety. This position carries full profit and loss (P&L) responsibility for assigned projects.

The Project Manager will be tasked with leading and aligning diverse internal teams, including engineering, procurement, and finance across both on-shore and off-shore locations. A key aspect of this role is the strategic management of project scope, schedule, budget, and risk to achieve company targets and ensure customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess a strong engineering background coupled with a proven track record of managing complex projects in the energy or control systems industry. This individual must demonstrate exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to navigate intercultural dynamics effectively. Professional working proficiency in both English and Spanish is essential for success in this role.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • 50% Project Execution & Management
    • Lead the end-to-end execution of Controls & Digitalization projects for external customers, from planning and procurement through to installation and commissioning.
    • Act as the primary point of contact for external customers and internal Siemens Energy business areas, ensuring clear communication and alignment.
    • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, schedules, and documentation to track progress and milestones.
    • Ensure compliance with all integral management system protocols, including Quality, Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS).
  • 30% Financial & Commercial Oversight
    • Assume full profit & loss (P&L) responsibility for all assigned projects, driving profitability and managing financial performance.
    • Manage project budgets, conduct financial forecasting, and report on project costs and revenues.
    • Oversee project-related procurement and vendor management to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of resources.
  • 20% Team Leadership & Stakeholder Alignment
    • Lead and coordinate cross-functional internal teams, including on-shore and off-shore resources from Engineering, Finance, and Procurement.
    • Align stakeholders and resolve conflicts or obstacles to ensure project objectives are met on time and within budget.
    • Facilitate effective collaboration between technical and commercial teams to fulfill all project requirements.

What You Bring

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (e.g., Electronic, Systems, Computer, Electrical, Mechanical) or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in project management, specifically with energy sector or control system projects. We are not looking for an IT project manager.
  • Demonstrated experience managing the full project lifecycle, including planning, procurement, engineering, installation, and commissioning.

Preferred

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) is a plus

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators.
