Masters Thesis - AI & ML Business Strategy – Engineering Systems
Background
Siemens Energy handles large amounts of data when gas turbines are developed and delivered. AI is a key concept for analyzing and developing the management of data sets now and in the future. The focus of the thesis is to analyze organizational strengths and weaknesses and to develop a road map for the introduction and use of AI in the business.
A Snapshot of Your Day
In this role, the focus will be on research into our business products and processes and future possibilities for the use of ML/AI. Interviews with managers and employees, analysis and production of a possible roadmap.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- You will help to form the strategy for the use of Machine Learning and AI within the Engineering organization of Siemens-Energy.
- You will be contributing to the overall digitalization and AI business strategy for our part of Siemens-Energy.
- Data-Driven Insights: By analyzing large datasets, you can uncover valuable insights that inform decision-making.
- Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing: Working closely with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders, you can facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration.
What You Bring
- Master’s degree within Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering & Management, Data Science or equivalent
- Basic knowledge of the standard processes used in large businesses.
- Experience with standard analytical tools and the drive to implement them.
- Knowledge of different Machine learning and AI possibilities and their pros and cons.
- An outside viewpoint of Siemens-Energy business processes.
About the Team
The Engineering Systems team is a small group of business analysts who work as a bridge between the Siemens-Energy business and IT.
We work together in smaller teams to cover the needs of the major IT tools used in our organization.
The team is very welcoming, forward thinking and always open to new ideas.
Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
