役割について
A Snapshot of Your Day
As an Industrial Engineer – Layout Planner, you will own and drive the creation, maintenance, and evolution of detailed factory layouts for an investment casting manufacturing facility. Your day blends hands‑on CAD work, time on the shop floor validating conditions, and cross‑functional collaboration to ensure layouts enable Lean flow, safety, capacity growth, and compliance with facilities constraints. You will translate real-time production needs into practical, buildable designs within an active brownfield environment, balancing daily operational priorities with long‑term strategic planning. You will work closely with Operations, EHS, Quality, Facilities, and Maintenance to ensure layout concepts are accurate, scalable, and executable, while supporting new equipment installations, line rebalancing, capital projects, and phased construction activities.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Develop, maintain, and control 2D/3D factory layouts using AutoCAD (or equivalent).
- Own the master plant layout, ensuring accuracy, revision control, and alignment with actual floor conditions.
- Create concept, intermediate, and final layouts for new equipment installations, line rebalancing and Lean transformations, capital projects, capacity expansions, and temporary or phased layouts during construction or moves.
- Support layout reviews with Operations, EHS, Quality, Maintenance, and Leadership using clear, to‑scale drawings.
- Incorporate facilities engineering considerations, including electrical power distribution, compressed air, gas, water, cooling, process exhaust, dust/fume collection, ventilation, foundations, pits, equipment anchoring, and overhead lifting systems.
- Coordinate with Facilities and Maintenance to validate utility capacity and routing, equipment service and maintenance access, code compliance, and constructability.
- Support equipment moves and installations, ensuring layouts are executable with minimal disruption.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- 3 or more years of direct experience in factory layout planning or industrial engineering in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong, hands‑on proficiency in AutoCAD (required). Inventor, SolidWorks, Visio, or similar tools optional.
- Practical experience applying Lean manufacturing principles to physical layout design.
- Experience working in brownfield and greenfield plants with active production.
- Experience with layout simulation tools (Plant Simulation, FlexSim, AnyLogic) or capacity modeling, preferred.
- Experience in investment casting, foundry, metals, or heavy manufacturing, preferred.
- Familiarity with facilities systems (power, air, exhaust, cranes, foundations), preferred.
- Knowledge of EHS requirements related to hot processes, material handling, and industrial equipment, preferred.
- Lean/OpEx credentials (Six Sigma Green Belt, Kaizen leader, SLP methodology), preferred.
- Comfortable spending time on the shop floor validating layouts.
- This position may require an export license from the Department of Commerce, Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the Department of State, Directorate of Defense Trade Controls. Issuance of any required license is a prerequisite for this position.
- Candidates with more experience can be considered for a higher level or vice versa.
- Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
