A Snapshot of Your Day 

As the Head of Development for the Omnivise T3000 control system, you are the focal point of the future of our control system for the energy sector. Your day begins with strategic meetings where you, along with system architects and product managers, define the vision and roadmap for the system’s further development. You lead a talented team of developers located in Erlangen and Karlsruhe on innovative solutions that help our customers optimize their operations. Your decisions have a direct impact on team productivity and quality od development outcomes, thereby influencing customer satisfaction while supporting Siemens Energy’s mission to shape a sustainable energy future. In a dynamic and creative team culture, you promote the exchange of ideas and continuous improvement. 

How You’ll Make an Impact 
  • Empower and Inspire: Lead the Omnivise T3000 development team in Germany of approximately 30 employees by fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture that encourages creativity, innovation and high performance. Your leadership will empower team members to take ownership of their work and contribute to their fullest potential.
  • Drive Project Success: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of The T3000 Omnivise development project, ensuring the alignment with business goals and completion on time and within budget. Your ability to manage resources effectively will enhance team productivity and project outcomes.
  • Enhance Team Performance: Apply Siemens Energy’s people management practices that include regular feedback, goal setting, and professional development opportunities. By identifying skill gaps and providing targeted training, you will help team members grow and excel in their roles.
  • Foster Continuous Improvement: Champion agile methodologies and process improvements that enhance team efficiency and collaboration. Your commitment to refining workflows will lead to higher quality deliverables and a more responsive development process.
  • Cultivate Strong Collaboration: Act as a liaison between the development team and other departments, ensuring clear communication and alignment on project objectives. Your ability to build relationships will facilitate cross-functional collaboration and drive successful outcomes
What You Bring
  • Technical Expertise: A completed degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a comparable qualification. Technical expertise with programming languages such as Java, Python, or similar, as well as with database technologies (SQL, NoSQL) are a benefit. 
  • Leadership Experience: Proven experience in a leadership or team lead role, with a track record of successfully managing software development teams and projects. Your leadership style will inspire trust and motivate team members.
  • People Management Skills: Exceptional people management abilities, including mentoring, coaching, and performance evaluation. You understand the importance of nurturing talent and fostering a positive team environment.
  • Agile Methodology Knowledge: Solid knowledge of modern software development methodologies (SAFe, Scrum, etc.) and project management tools (JIRA, etc.). Your expertise will help the team adopt best practices and improve workflows.
  • Effective Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders – German language is a benefit. Your ability to articulate ideas clearly will enhance collaboration and understanding.
  • Commitment to Continuous Learning: Passion for innovation and a willingness to continuously educate oneself in technological trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in software development. You will encourage a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing within the team.
About the Team

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
