A Snapshot of Your Day

The Substation Senior Project Manager will lead EPC substation projects as the primary responsible lead and point of contact to our customers. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, finance, procurement, and construction teams to ensure projects are executed in accordance with the business strategy.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Drive projects to successful completion by managing schedules, budgets, customer expectations, and overall project performance.
  • Lead all core project management functions, including forecasting, risk and change management, opportunity tracking, and recurring reporting to leadership.
  • Own full profit-and-loss responsibility for assigned projects, ensuring financial targets are met or exceeded.
  • Collaborate closely with preconstruction, estimating, and proposal teams to support new and existing business opportunities with accurate scope and cost input.
  • Capture, document, and share project-specific lessons learned to strengthen continuous improvement efforts and reduce non-conformance costs across future projects.
  • Serve as the primary customer interface for substation projects, coordinating cross‑functional teams (including international partners) to manage deliverables, resolve issues, and advance project milestones while staying current on AIS/GIS technologies and market trends.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management with 8+ years of project management experience. Master’s degree and PMP/PMI certifications preferred.
  • Ideally, this person has 5+ years of hands-on experience in Transmission or Distribution Substations, with foundational knowledge of substation equipment and electrical systems.
  • Deep technical expertise in GIS/AIS systems, balance-of-plant (BOP) components, and switchgear products.
  • Proven success delivering EPC projects, with strengths in process improvement, contract management, and document/quality management, along with excellent communication, leadership, and team-building capabilities, with strong customer-facing skills.
  • Willing to travel 30% domestically and internationally.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
