- Act as a trusted Export Control Business Partner for the TI Business Area, providing professional and risk-conscious export control consultation across products, services, and projects globally.
- Oversee strategic export control topics for TI, connecting with Export Control Business Partners from all regions and collaborating closely with related functions such as the Export Control Governance and Classification Teams.
- Conduct risk-based evaluations of critical business transactions using the Gloria tool, making decisions on approvals, conditions, mitigations, or no-go scenarios as necessary.
- Make strategic export control decisions, including resolving complex red flags, handling escalations, and briefing senior management.
- Manage licensing needs by preparing, submitting, and overseeing license applications while ensuring compliance with license conditions and assessing U.S. EAR and ITAR implications.
- Interpret and apply EU, US, and other sanctions regulations to transactions, conduct end-use/end-user checks, participate in audits, and deliver export control training to relevant business groups.
- Hold a degree in law, business administration, economics, engineering, or a related field, and bring extensive of hands-on experience in export control within complex, international project or product environments (energy, industrial, or comparable sectors).
- Demonstrate expert knowledge of EU Dual-Use Regulation, relevant national laws (e.g., AWG/AWV), U.S. export controls (EAR; familiarity with ITAR is beneficial), and sanctions frameworks (EU/US/others) with practical transactional application.
- Operate EX processes and controls in ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and utilize external and internal professional databases/sources (e.g., Dow Jones, Sanctions Matrix).
- Exhibit strong risk management, critical thinking, and decision-making skills while balancing business priorities with non-negotiable export control compliance requirements.
- Communicate effectively and manage stakeholders, explaining complex regulations in business-friendly terms and constructively challenging when necessary.
- Maintain high integrity, resilience, and sound judgment, feeling comfortable making and standing behind go/no-go calls in ambiguous, time-sensitive contexts, and speak fluent English, with additional language skills (e.g., German) being advantageous.
