A Snapshot of Your Day
You will spend your days investigating advisable requirements and validating the current flame detectors used in Gas Turbine applications. You prepare concepts and specify detailed requirements for flame detectors, ensuring these meet the necessary standards and application needs. Throughout the day, you conduct in-depth investigations of third-party test procedures, evaluating their applicability to specific configurations. This includes considering factors such as background heat, short distances, fuel types, and other combustible materials used in Gas Turbine applications. You then compile your findings and prepare reports or presentations to share insights and recommendations with the team, ensuring all aspects of the investigation are thoroughly documented and communicated.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Investigate current flame detectors used in Gas Turbine applications and deepen knowledge about fire detector requirements according to different standards.
- Consider various standards such as NFPA72, EN54, and different requirements for third-party testing procedures.
- Evaluate different flame detection technologies and propose suitable options for Gas Turbine applications.
- Take into account the fire behavior of different combustible materials when selecting flame detectors.
- Balance the level of requirements to avoid limiting manufacturer options, components, and increasing costs, ensuring they align with the actual application needs.
What You Bring
- Expertise in Fire Detection System Design: Ability to gain deeper knowledge and establish a strong foundation for designing fire detection systems.
- Analytical and Improvement Skills: Capability to provide improvement suggestions for current products and designs.
- Validation and Testing Proficiency: Experience in considering validation and test reports from manufacturers, with the ability to conduct new validations as needed.
- Technical Evaluation and Specification: Proficiency in collecting knowledge, evaluating, and specifying advisable requirements for flame detector components, including explaining the chosen requirements and justifying why other options are not preferred.
- Investigative and Technological Interest: A general interest in investigating different technologies and pairing them with various components and configurations to find the best solution for the system.
- Technical Knowledge: Possess knowledge of different measuring technologies and basic mechanical system knowledge.
