A Snapshot of Your Day

The position is to provide maintenance to large turbines, generators, and auxiliary systems in the field. The position requires 80%+ travel to power plant sites internationally. The daily activities include leading and directing technicians, supervisors and subcontractors to do the necessary tasks to serve the equipment, while assuring quality and technical procedures are followed. You will attend site meetings with customers/subcontractors to coordinate these tasks. You will be expected to communicate status and lessons-learned to the back-office engineering and management on a consistent basis. You must have a mechanical background and be able to read drawings and schematics necessary for the maintenance of the equipment. Specializing in different frames is possible over time.

How You’ll Make an Impact 

  • Lead and supervise field service engineers, technicians, and craft labor during installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of combustion turbines, steam turbines, and generators at customer sites.
  • Plan and manage project staffing, ensuring proper coordination of resources and compliance with Siemens Energy field service procedures.
  • Provide technical expertise on combustion turbines to internal teams, customers, product line management, and suppliers, supporting issue resolution and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with engineering to address on-site service challenges and ensure accurate execution of customer contract requirements.
  • Prepare detailed reports on equipment condition, repairs, and recommendations, maintaining clear documentation for all service activities.
  • Ensure compliance with EHS, quality standards, and company protocols, promoting a safe and efficient work environment.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, with working proficiency in English (verbal and written).
  • 5+ years of experience as a mechanical field service engineer, with strong technical knowledge of combustion turbines, steam turbines, generators, and auxiliary systems.
  • Strong decision-making and leadership skills, self-driven, and able to work with minimal supervision while fostering teamwork and managing risks.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to handle changing priorities in dynamic environments, with a results-oriented mindset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and capable of learning additional software tools as needed.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 80% of the time.
