A Snapshot of Your Day:                         

The Compressor Systems Engineer is responsible for the design and implementation of auxiliary systems supporting turbo-machinery equipment packages. These may include lubrication, seal & hydraulic oil systems, seal gas and buffer gas systems, unit instrumentation and controls.

The successful candidate will have an interest and competency in Compressor Systems design and manufacturing and is expected to assume a leadership role within a collaborative engineering team including, as required, a project manager, project engineer, product design engineer, systems drafting, core technology specialists, service center/factory assembly teams, customers, and suppliers.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

  • Review and compare applicable customer project specifications to company and industry standards (API, ASME, ANSI, NEMA, etc.). Then resolve any discrepancies before design and construction of equipment is implemented.
  • Develop unique designs as required to meet project requirements. This may include wiring, surge control, logic and process diagrams and their corresponding bills of materials.
  •  Create project-specific purchasing and design specifications that clearly detail bespoke design requirements. This may include unique fluid handling systems, process valves or control panels.
  •  Issue requests for quotations (RFQ’s) to suppliers for components and/or packaged systems, review offers for suitability and liaise with suppliers throughout the delivery cycle.
  • Conduct or attend engineering meetings with internal and external customers and sub-suppliers to achieve complete, correct and timely delivery of specified goods and services.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Aeronautical/Aerodynamic, or equivalent degrees from an ABET accredited college/university will be considered). Bachelor’s degree in physics may be considered.
  • Experience in turbomachinery systems engineering of technologically advanced rotating equipment including in-depth knowledge of API 614 and API 692 and good working knowledge of API-613, API-617, ASME Section 8 and ANSI B31.3.
  •  Experience working with rotating machinery such as centrifugal/ axial compressors, gas/steam turbines; or experience working for a rotating equipment supplier or EPC is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrates high attention to detail with good organizational and time management skills.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.

This job may be based in Painted Post or Olean, New York. Siemens Energy offers a variety of health and wellness benefits including paid time off and holiday pay. Details regarding our benefits can be found here: https://benefitsatenergy.com/thinking-of-joining.html.The base salary range for this position in Painted Post or Olean, New York is $70,000 - $90,000.

Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, skills, certifications, and other business needs. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual’s qualifications.

Hybrid position requiring at least 3 days a week in office.
