Join us as a Turbine Heat Transfer Design Engineer and immerse yourself in a dynamic engineering product development environment! You will work both independently and collaboratively with colleagues across various engineering teams, engaging in a wide range of projects that include conceptual studies, detailed design development, data analysis, service support, and issue resolution. Each day will be fast-paced and rewarding, demanding your active involvement and creativity. You will apply advanced thermal design and analysis tools, communicate results effectively, and present innovative solutions to customers and leadership. Continuous learning is at the heart of this role, allowing you to grow through hands-on experience and classroom training in both technical and non-technical topics.

How You’ll Make an Impact 
  • Contribution to the design of turbine hot gas path components, including the delivery of critical thermal analyses and evaluations to improve efficiency, component lifetime, robustness, and manufacturability
  • Continuous improvement of the tools landscape, encompassing classical heat transfer tools and automated workflows, through the development of ideas for enhanced functionality and the identification of AI/ML opportunities
  • Advancement of Conjugate Heat Transfer (CHT) 3D thermal design methodologies for new engine programs and upgrades, including the exploration of new implementation approaches and methods
  • Support of essential engine and component testing activities for design and analysis validation, including the preparation of test predictions and the execution of post‑test data reduction and analysis
What You Bring
  • University degree in mechanical, aerospace, or materials engineering, focusing on thermo-fluid science, with several years of experience in FEA, CFD, and CAD, particularly in Conjugate Heat Transfer
  • Practical experience with turbo-machinery and turbine hot gas path component thermal design, along with a solid understanding of fluid systems
  • Proficiency in heat transfer fundamentals and computational programming skills (e.g., APDL, Python)
  • Ability to thrive in a global, fast-paced Integrated Product Team environment, demonstrating motivation, proactivity, and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Business fluent English & German skills
About the Team

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
