Snapshot of your day:

As a Technical Expert –Technical Support, you are the primary technical focal point for assigned customers and field service activities within the Distributed Products portfolio. You provide first-level technical support, technical support outage preparation and execution for customer-specific maintenance events, analyze equipment reliability data, review field service findings, coordinate actions arising from fleet bulletins and remote diagnostics, and support service growth opportunities

How You’ll Make an Impact

Technical Support Ownership

  • Serve as the Tier 1 Technical Support focal point for assigned customers, Service Engineers (SEs), and Field Service Representatives (FSRs).
  • Take ownership of technical issues and drive timely resolution through collaboration with Product Competence Centers and specialist engineering teams.
  • Support troubleshooting activities and return-to-service efforts during planned and unplanned maintenance events.
  • Tailored Outage Preparation & Field Support
  • Prepare tailored outage plans based on customer operational history, equipment condition, fleet experience, and outage objectives.
  • Provide technical support to on-site Service Engineers during outage execution, inspections, troubleshooting activities, and commissioning events.
  • Support outage planning and ensure technical alignment between customer requirements, field resources, and engineering recommendations.

Reliability and Fleet Management

  • Monitor and analyze availability and reliability indicators for assigned customer assets. 
  • Review oil analysis reports and provide technical assessment of equipment health and lubrication performance.
  • Review RDS alerts and reports, identify emerging issues, and support mitigation planning.

Technical Governance and Reporting

  • Track and communicate technical bulletins, product advisories, and fleet updates. 
  • Review Field Service Reports (FSRs) for technical quality, completeness, and consistency.
  • Capture and communicate lessons learned to improve future outage execution and fleet reliability.

Project and Overhaul Support

  • Provide technical input during project planning, execution, and close-out activities. 
  • Support overhaul planning, scope definition, risk assessment, and repair recommendations.
  • Support major overhauls and maintenance campaigns through technical reviews and engineering coordination.

Sales Support

  • Provide technical expertise during customer discussions and proposal development.
  • Identify service opportunities, upgrades, modernization initiatives, and outage-related business opportunities, and support their technical qualification.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Power
  • Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: Field Service, Technical Support, Service Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, or a related industrial environment. 
  • Strong knowledge of rotating equipment, particularly gas turbines and their auxiliary systems.
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation, maintenance findings, operational data, and diagnostic reports.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Customer-focused mindset with the ability to operate effectively in a global and cross-functional environment.
  • Fluent English, both written and spoken.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to customer sites and support field activities when required.

About the team

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.

The EU&AF Distributed Field Service team in Budapest covers on-site inspections and major overhauls for Siemens Energy industrial gas turbines (AGT, MGT and SGT) on the entire European and African continent, working closely together with local Field Service Organizations, Project Management and our Field Service Expert technical support team.
