About the Role
A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Project Procurement Manager at Siemens Energy, you operate at the center of complex substation projects, ensuring procurement is fully aligned with technical, commercial, and project requirements. From early bid phase through execution, you work closely with engineering, project management, and suppliers to shape sourcing strategies and secure the right partners for delivery. Your day-to-day work involves reviewing project progress, supporting tender preparation, and aligning with the core project team on engineering readiness, cost control, and price benchmarking. You take ownership of procurement activities across the project lifecycle—driving sourcing processes, leading negotiations, and managing subcontractor and supplier relationships in line with Siemens Energy standards. Working in an international and cross-functional setup, you act as a key interface between internal teams and external partners, balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution. Your contribution is critical in keeping procurement performance aligned with project milestones and ensuring delivery in terms of cost, quality, and timeline.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Establish procurement strategy in projects, execute the strategy, evaluate, select, and monitor suppliers, negotiate new procurement and subcontracting agreements, etc.
- Manage the top commodities for the projects and leverage synergies by using and involving the procurement network within Siemens Energy worldwide.
- Drive proper sourcing processes, control all Procurement resources and activities in the project and inform all involved stakeholders to deliver optimum impact for the business relating to budget, availability, timeline and quality.
- Contribute actively to the bid phase with providing potential suppliers, obtaining quotations, create price benchmarks etc.
- Develop contract award strategy under consideration of the project goals, cost and quality, successful presentation of Total Cost Comparison in a sourcing board and implementation thereof.
- Carry out supplier management and ongoing evaluations, including and in collaboration with QHSE department to prepare audit plans.
- Have close contact with both Danish and foreign suppliers and support project managers, technical project managers, QHSE and bid team with all tasks related to procurement.
- Generate, document and implement savings CNI; plan, monitor and report on relevant KPI (e.g. CNI, CTG, eAuctions)
What You Bring
- A university degree in engineering, business, or a related field (Master’s level or equivalent preferred)
- Extensive relevant experience (typically 10+ years) within strategic procurement, contract management, service project management, or similar technical functions, ideally within commodities such as Installation, Transmission Products, or Protection & Control Systems
- Leadership capabilities with the ability to collaborate across multicultural and cross-functional teams; experience in managing and developing people is an advantage
- Solid understanding of project management fundamentals, combined with strong analytical and planning skills and the ability to translate supply chain, market, and supplier insights into effective procurement strategies and roadmaps
- A proactive and solution-oriented mindset, acting as a change advocate and continuously driving improvements
- Fluent English skills (written and verbal). Danish language skills are considered an advantage
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and negotiate effectively with internal and external partners at executive level
About the Team
You will join the Grid Technologies Substations team based in Ballerup, Denmark, delivering turnkey high-voltage substation solutions for onshore applications. The team is also part of Siemens Energy’s Global Offshore System Centre of Competency for AC solutions, focusing on connecting offshore wind generation to electricity transmission systems worldwide. The Project Procurement team consists of five colleagues in Denmark and two in Romania, working closely with engineering, project management, and QHSE functions across projects.
