A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Machining Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing machining operations to ensure efficient production and high-quality output. This role involves managing the machining team, analyzing production workflows, developing and implementing new machining methods, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve product design and manufacturability. The Machining Manager also focuses on reducing costs, enhancing productivity, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting machining issues, maintaining equipment, maintaining high OTD and customer satisfaction, and continuously seeking opportunities for process improvements, innovation, and excellence in machining operations. How You’ll Make an Impact
- Process Management: Implementing, maintaining, and optimizing machining processes to improve efficiency and utilization, reduce costs, and ensure product quality.
- Team Leadership: Leading and managing the machining team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance and professional development.
- Quality Control and Assurance: Establishing and maintaining quality control systems to ensure that machined products meet required specifications and standards.
- Equipment Maintenance: Overseeing the maintenance, repair, and calibration of machining equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Continuous Improvement and Digitalization: Seeking opportunities for process improvements, supporting the implementation of lean manufacturing principles, and driving initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste. Integrating smart technologies such as MIS (Manufacturing Information System), AI (Artificial Intelligence), and digital tools to monitor and optimize machining processes in real-time, leading to more efficient and agile machining operations.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; A Master's degree will be considered a plus.
- 2+ years of experience with managing a manufacturing team, and a minimum of 5 years of combined experience with manufacturing industry; Proven track record of process improvement, optimization and innovation.
- Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software like SAP is required; Knowledge of AutoCAD is preferable.
- Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and quality control systems is preferred; Lean or Six Sigma certification will be considered a plus.
- Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software like SAP is required; Knowledge of AutoCAD is preferable.
- Excellent analytical skills to identify issues and implement effective solutions, along with strong problem-solving abilities to address complex machining challenges. Strong project management skills preferable. Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage and motivate the machining team and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
