A Snapshot of Your Day

As the Head of Substation & Switchgear Services, you will lead field operations supporting substation upgrades across North America, focusing on grid expansion, resilience, and modernization of AIS and GIS systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including global partners, to drive operational excellence, workforce development, and business growth. A typical day includes overseeing multiple projects, aligning resources, solving complex operational challenges, and ensuring high-quality service delivery. You will play a key leadership role in shaping strategy, improving processes, and delivering long-term value to customers and the organization.

 

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Lead and manage a team of field service engineers supporting AIS and GIS substation systems across multiple projects
  • Drive business growth by expanding service offerings and scaling field operations to meet market demand
  • Collaborate with global teams to enhance training, resource planning, tools, and operational processes
  • Oversee project planning, scheduling, and execution to ensure high-quality and timely delivery
  • Identify and resolve complex operational challenges while driving continuous improvement initiatives
  • Capture and implement lessons learned to reduce non-conformance costs and improve overall project performance

 

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • 15+ years of experience in field services, construction, or manufacturing within the AIS/GIS switchgear industry
  • Proven experience leading field teams and managing multi-project operations across different geographic regions
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in resource planning, project execution, and operational improvement initiatives
  • Travel up 30%
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
