A Snapshot of Your Day

As part of our Fleet Performance and Solutions team, the Digitalization Specialist will be responsible for supporting a range of exciting and ambitious projects that allow for development of skills and make a real impact in the power generation industry. This role will play a vital part in supporting the digitalization initiative of the overall Generator Service Engineering organization, which has a broad scope of responsibility, including order execution, negotiations, and service R&D for an operating fleet of large utility generators. A typical day will be filled with diverse tasks, including programming/application development, database management with Oracle/APEX, and strategic planning!

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Lead the application of data science and analytics to advance the Generator Service Engineering digitalization initiative, transforming complex engineering and fleet data into actionable insights and scalable digital solutions
  • Develop, deploy, and continuously improve data-driven tools, models, and analytics workflows that support fleet performance assessment, root cause investigations, service strategy, and decision-making across the organization.
  • Champion adoption of internally developed digital and analytics tools by communicating insights clearly, incorporating user feedback, and iterating on functionality to maximize business value.
  • Collaborate with Generator Service Engineers, R&D, and global digitalization teams to translate business and engineering problems into data questions, analytic approaches, and practical digital solutions.
  • Contribute to the organization’s digital future by helping define and execute a data science–informed roadmap for analytics, automation, and digital tool development within Generator Services.
  • Travel opportunities (up to 15%) to collaborate with customers and team members around the globe, supporting data-driven solutions for real-world power generation challenges.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in data science or related technical field. Proficiency in Oracle and Snowflake.
  • Experience with application development in APEX preferred.
  • Proficiency in Python/SQL/HTML/CSS/Javascript preferred.
  • A passion for problem-solving and helping colleagues.
  • The ability to work collaboratively in a team setting, contributing to a positive and innovative environment.
  • Strong communication and technical presentations skills: Effective communication directly with peers and management.
  • Ability to make quick, informed decisions on a regular basis.
  • Proficient project management skills; able to manage numerous projects and meet deadlines independently.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.

About the Team

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
