About the Role
A Snapshot of Your Day (Position Overview)
As a Project Financial Controller, you will play a critical role in supporting the Gas Services North America Apollo project by providing financial leadership throughout the transition from a Service Operations to a Project Management financial model. Your day may include managing the financial lifecycle of field service projects, supporting SAP project setup and process migration activities, developing project forecasts, analyzing financial performance, and partnering with Project Managers to drive informed business decisions. You will collaborate closely with Finance, Project Management, and Operations teams to ensure financial accuracy, process consistency, and successful adoption of the new project execution model. This role offers the opportunity to influence a major business transformation while strengthening financial governance and project performance across the organization.
How You'll Make an Impact (Responsibilities)
- Manage the complete financial lifecycle of field service projects, including project setup, budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, variance analysis, financial closeout, and compliance with accounting standards and internal controls
- Support the transition from the Service Operations to Project Management financial model by leading financial process migration activities, maintaining SAP project structures, and driving continuous improvements in project execution and reporting processes
- Develop and maintain project cost forecasts while analyzing financial performance, identifying risks and variances, and providing recommendations to improve project profitability and financial outcomes
- Partner with Project Managers, Operations, and business leadership to provide financial guidance, support project execution, and advise on the financial impact of operational and project decisions
- Prepare and present financial reports, project forecasts, and performance analyses that provide clear insights to leadership and support strategic decision-making across the organization
- Serve as a finance subject matter expert for SAP project execution, project accounting, and cost management processes while supporting cross-functional collaboration and the successful implementation of the Apollo transformation initiative
What You Bring (Requirements)
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in financial analysis, project controlling, project accounting, or a related corporate finance role supporting project-based operations
- Strong knowledge of financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, cost accounting, project accounting, corporate finance, and financial reporting within project-based environments
- Experience working with SAP and digital reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, or similar analytics platforms, with the ability to independently manage complex financial analyses and project reporting activities
- Strong analytical, influencing, communication, collaboration, and report writing skills with the ability to partner effectively with project teams, operational leadership, and finance stakeholders in a dynamic project environment
