A Snapshot of Your Day
Join our dynamic Field Service () organization, where you will travel to power plants across the U.S. and play a crucial role in maintaining and upgrading some of the largest and most powerful electrical generation machinery in the world, including gas turbines, steam turbines, and generators. As a field engineer, you are responsible for the safe technical execution of the project as well as maintaining excellent customer relationships. As a field project manager, you are responsible for execution of the entire project. Your experience will determine which role to start your journey on.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Develop essential skills in equipment operation, maintenance, job site safety, project management, leadership, and Siemens Energy’s business systems alongside our leading FSE staff.
- Supervise technicians and mechanics during power plant maintenance shutdowns, addressing both planned and unplanned maintenance outages due to equipment performance issues.
- Disassemble, inspect, and reassemble turbines and generators, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with our global engineering team to resolve complex technical issues, serving as the primary customer contact during outages to ensure timely and accurate repairs.
- Evaluate cost management proposals, support new products and services, lead related special projects, and develop planning templates to support field project managers.
- Lead internal projects, facilitate and collaborate in multi-functional teams, and present recommendations up to and including the executive leadership team.
What You Bring
- A high school diploma or equivalent experience is required, with 5+ years of demonstrated technical leadership in power plant or facilities maintenance and operations; an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- A passion for solving complex mechanical problems
using both your intellect and hands,while working closely with a team and customers to deliver exceptional service. - A self-starting leader who effectively utilizes available resources to create innovative solutions for challenging mechanical issues.
- Willingness to travel extensively, with FSEs typically working up to 250 days per year for periods ranging from 2 to 15 weeks at a time.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to lead teams and collaborate with customers. Excellent writing and digital literacy and willingness to learn new IT applications.
- Ability to work extended hours of up to 12-14 hours per day during project execution. You should also be physically capable of ascending/descending ladders, examining equipment in confined spaces, and lifting boxes weighing up to 40 pounds.

We focus on zero or low emission power generation and manage all gas turbines, steam turbines, and generators under one roof.
