A Snapshot of Your Day

The Engineering Integration role places you in the most challenging topics facing Generator Engineering. Daily responsibilities include collaborating internally at the Generator business location and communicating externally with customers and partners. This role will take overarching and complex engineering topics to drive decisions, strategic direction and outcomes which effectively serve our Products, Customers and People. There are many topics which require leadership and ownership. In general, topics may range from Engineering Quality, Processes and Product Definition alignment, Product Issues, Continuous Improvement, Outsourced Engineered Components, Generator Knowledge Transfer, and more.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Drive LGN engineering initiatives across LGN Engineering network to deliver coordinated and unified results across LGN EN.
  • Ability for decision making and contribute to LGN EN strategic direction while driving internal initiatives.
  • Includes leadership topics focused on our people, build on LGN EN Growth Opportunities and Knowledge Transfer across the LGN EN network.
  • Serve as key interface partner for complex internal and external topics. Covering outsourced engineered components, supplier and manufacturing, change management, active TI/SFI topics, and customer communications.
  • Contribute as a Leader (LGN EN staff member) as well as individual contributor.

What You Bring

  • A bachelor’s or above in any Engineering area preferable Mechanical engineering
  • 15 or more years of relevant work experience coupled with 5 or more years of leadership experience. Candidates with more experience can be considered for a higher level or vice versa.

  • Generator Product Knowledge and basic understanding of Generator Manufacturing Operations
  • Knowledge and proven experience of Product Development Process (PDP) and Quality Processes (QIS, TI/SFI, RCA’s, etc.)
  • Proven Leadership, Critical Thinking and Problem-solving.
  • Be an ambassador of generator knowledge including, but not limited to, training and communications.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.

About the Team

Our Large Generator Rotor Operations team is responsible for manufacturing large electric generator rotors weighing up to 275 tons. We operate within the Large Generator team to supply new 150 – 1000 megawatt generators to power plants all over the world. In addition to manufacturing new rotors, we also service generator rotors by providing inspections, rewinds, modernizations, and upgrades.

Our Gas Services division offers low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
