A Snapshot of Your Day
You will develop and implement robust dual-sourcing strategies for key mechanical components. You will coordinate and lead sourcing activities for Gas Services Distributed in China. You will work closely with key stakeholders in the business, such as the commodity managers in the product lines, the heads of procurement in each business and Corporate Procurement. The role is embedded in the Siemens Energy Sourcing Hub in China. The role reports to the head of Commodity Management of Gas Services Distributed
How You’ll Make an Impact
• Develop commodity strategies for direct material for medium, small and aero gas turbine components in cooperation with the commodity managers of the product lines
• Lead the sourcing activities in China for specific commodities like forgings, cold blades and vanes, castings, and large steel fabrications.
• Be the leader for Supplier Relationship Management for GS D to our Chinese suppliers, in cooperation with RCMs for GS Central and other Execution Units
• Closely cooperate with cross-functions and internal stakeholders to provide professional commodity management to the business, including guidance on cost-out opportunities, risk management, and new technologies & trends in the supply chain
• Actively participate in the development Procurement and Commodity Management
What You Bring
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial), Supply Chain Management, or a related technical field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in strategic sourcing or commodity management within a global manufacturing or engineering environment.
Demonstrated experience sourcing complex, engineered mechanical components such as forgings, castings, or precision machined parts is highly required.
Proven skills in strategic sourcing for complex engineered products, strong negotiation skills and supplier relationship management skills
A collaborative and inclusive working style that fosters accountability and ownership within the team
Proven ability to manage large projects with limited oversight
Experience in the power generation or gas turbine industry is a significant advantage
Fluent in English (spoken & written)
