About the Role
A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Buyer, you’ll be responsible for the tactical execution of procurement strategies across assigned commodities. You’ll collaborate closely with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure timely, visible, and impactful contributions. Working within a motivated team environment, you’ll address daily challenges while also supporting long-term improvement initiatives with global commodity management. This role offers the opportunity to grow expertise in tactical execution, expediting, strategic negotiation, and supply chain performance management.
This role will primarily focus on preparing and sending RFQ packages, identifying suppliers using historical data or collaborating with the commodity management team to source new ones. Responsibilities include negotiating quotes, resolving supply challenges, and placing and managing purchase orders. The Buyer will regularly engage with external suppliers and internal teams such as design engineering, project management, global commodity management, cost value engineering, order management, and quality. A strong customer focus is essential for success in this role.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Lead and coordinate the procurement of parts and components.
- Analyze engineering drawings and specifications to support purchasing decisions.
- Review and optimize project data to improve procurement outcomes.
- Develop supply base strategies to enhance performance and drive cost savings.
- Create, negotiate, and manage supplier contracts aligned with business needs.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve issues and ensure timely order fulfillment.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Min of 2+ years of experience in engineering or supply chain roles.
- Proficiency in SAP PD2/OPP and strong data analysis capabilities.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong customer focus and ability to work cross-functionally.
