A Snapshot of Your Day

Starting everyday with a safety brief on daily activities. Assignments will be given of what project and tasks are scheduled for the day. Daily task will range from inventorying/inspecting parts, assembling compressors to setting up/tearing down test loops and compressors for test. You will work independently and in a group environment.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Review Assembly instructions, specs and blueprints.
  • Inventory, clean and visually inspect all components and stage all equipment needed for assembly and safely offload incoming parts off transport using proper lifting/ rigging equipment and techniques.
  • Perform measurements and adjustments as necessary for correct tolerances, record measurements for review.
  • Notify management/engineering of issues and deviations from print and regularly carry out and document simple maintenance and cleaning work according to the specifications or maintenance plan. Carry out minor repair within the scope of the available expertise.
  • Work with management/engineering to refine assembly best practices and Train less experienced Assembly Technician. Use micrometer and indicators to measure tolerances to +/-0.001”, hand tools, air grinders and overhead lifting devices.
  • Set-up Compressor test stand for unit testing. Assist test team monitoring and testing compressors. Maintain a clean and organized work area.

What You Bring

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 5+ years relevant experience in Assembly of Rotating Equipment Manufacturing, applicants with specific expert knowledge of Siemens Energy Turbomachinery rotating equipment assembly (particularly RF and Datum range of turbo-compressors) including development and interpretation of technical assembly instructions, build methods and sequencing of core compressor internals and auxiliaries preferred.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
