About the Role
A Snapshot of Your Day
You will be part of the manufacturing process in the Advanced Core Department that will result in the production of quality castings in the Gibsonton Florida location. Will work in the visual inspection of all core products. Training core finishers and trainee inspectors. Work core finishing and/or other core department operations when business needs warrant additional output.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Communication with manufacturing, engineering, production control, and quality engineering to resolve production and part quality issues.
- Receive and inspect core products from both internally manufactured cores and external core suppliers helping expedite movement through post firing core operations.
- Maintain and track final inspection, document quality issues such as but not limited to: handling damage, over-finishing, incomplete part finishing. Review with the operator that created the issue and submit findings to supervisor for traceability and accountability purposes.
- Spot checks all core finishers daily. Give instant feedback for improvement.
- Review finishing and inspection procedures issued to production with operators (email with Document Manager).
- Collaborate with core injection team leaders and technicians. Review quality issues observed in finishing that originated from core injection to identify improvements and develop immediate corrective actions.
What You Bring
- Evidence of a completed High School or GED is required.
- At least one year of related experience and/or training. Quality background will be a plus.
- Able to stand during working hours for long periods of time.
- Proficiency in the English language (reading, writing, speaking).
- Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
- This position will require an export license from the Department of Commerce, Bureau of Industry and Security, and/or the Department of State, Directorate of Defense Trade Controls. Issuance of any required license is a prerequisite for this position. The candidate must be able to work with export-controlled technology in accordance with US export control law.
