About the Role
A Snapshot of Your Day
This role is a new addition to the Large Power Transformer manufacturing team in Charlotte, created to support a new project. The primary business need is to operate specialized equipment for the crucial active part drying and treatment phase of transformer production. To meet this objective, the role's responsibilities are structured around three core areas: hands-on operation and control of industrial drying equipment, strict adherence to quality and safety protocols, and diligent process documentation. This focus ensures that production targets are met while upholding the highest standards of product integrity and workplace safety. Given the focus on specialized manufacturing processes, this is an entry-level position designed for an individual with a foundational understanding of industrial environments and a strong commitment to safety and quality. The ideal candidate will possess a growth mindset, as they will receive extensive, specialized training in large power transformer manufacturing.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- 60% Equipment Operation & Process Control
- Operate and monitor industrial ovens, vacuum pumps, and filtration systems for the drying and treatment of transformer active parts.
- Control and adjust process parameters such as temperature, pressure, and cycle times according to engineering specifications.
- Assist with the setup, loading, and unloading of transformer components into the drying equipment.
- Perform basic operational checks on equipment to ensure it is functioning correctly before and during each cycle.
- 30% Quality & Safety Compliance
- Adhere strictly to all electrical and equipment safety protocols, including lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures.
- Conduct in-process quality inspections to verify parts meet required dryness and treatment standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with 5S principles.
- Report any safety hazards, process deviations, or quality concerns to the team leader or supervisor immediately.
- 10% Documentation & Reporting
- Accurately record process data, cycle parameters, and quality check results in production logs and systems.
- Document any equipment malfunctions or process anomalies for maintenance and engineering review.
What You Bring
- High school degree or equivalent with relevant technical training/experience.
- At least 1 years of experience handling and operating pumps, filters, large industrial ovens (transformer drying ovens)
- Applicant must be able to obtain Keys certification test on reading and writing and Blueprint reading test offered by local community colleges
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
· Successful applicants must be able to pass standard hearing, vision, and pulmonary function tests.
· Must also be able to read, write, understand, and follow verbal and/or written instructions in English.
- Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
