A Snapshot of Your Day
This replacement Account Manager role is established to ensure business continuity for Siemens Energy's Grid Technologies sales operations in the North America East region. The position is critical for managing and growing the customer base, specifically focusing on developers, municipal utilities, and cooperatives within the state of Florida. To achieve this, the role is structured around three core areas: strategic account and territory management, targeted business development and sales execution, and market analysis with diligent reporting. This approach ensures the nurturing of existing high-value relationships while systematically identifying and pursuing new revenue opportunities within the specified customer segments and geography. Given the focus on these responsibilities, the ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert with extensive experience in the energy sector. They must possess proven skills in strategic sales, complex negotiation, and relationship management, coupled with a deep understanding of the target market, including developers, municipals, and cooperatives.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- 50% Strategic Account & Territory Management
- Develop and execute strategic account plans for key developers, municipals, and cooperatives in Florida to achieve sales targets and business objectives.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, building and maintaining long-term relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders.
- Manage the entire Florida territory, coordinating with internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction and successful delivery of grid technology solutions.
- Coach and provide guidance to junior sales professionals on account management best practices and strategies.
- 40% Business Development & Sales Execution
- Identify and qualify new business opportunities within the assigned customer segments to expand market share and drive growth.
- Lead the end-to-end sales process, from prospecting and lead generation to proposal development, contract negotiation, and closing deals.
- Deliver compelling sales presentations and product demonstrations that articulate the value proposition of Siemens Energy's grid technology portfolio.
- Assess customer needs and recommend appropriate products, services, and solutions to solve complex technical and business challenges.
- 10% Market Analysis & Reporting
- Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback within the Florida energy market to inform sales strategy.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all sales activities, customer interactions, and pipeline status in the CRM system (e.g., Salesforce).
- Develop and present regular sales forecasts, territory performance reports, and business reviews to sales management.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in business, engineering, or relevant field preferred.
- 3 or more years of experience in technical sales or strategic account management within the energy, power generation, or utility industry. Candidates with more experience can be considered for a higher level or vice-versa.
- Demonstrated experience working with developers, municipal utilities, and/or electric cooperatives is highly preferred.
Travel, as needed (~30% domestic and international).
