        A Snapshot of your day:

        As an Energy Market Analyst, you sit within our revolutionary Enterprise Data & Advanced Analytics (ED&AA) unit at Siemens Energy, where we work together on challenging projects that widely impact all areas of the energy industry. Your role is based in Barcelona as part of Siemens Energy #DigiHubBarcelona.

        #DigiHubBarcelona is one of the main Data Hubs for Siemens Energy. At #DigiHubBarcelona we work with consultative sales methodologies and enable our sales colleagues in selling Digital Transformation and Energy Transition related solutions from an integrated customer centric approach.

        You will work directly with our Prescriptive Marketing Team who uses proprietary and public data through analytics to uncover opportunities to assist our customers capture market tailwinds and overcome market headwinds. You will be responsible for helping define the key cost, regulatory, demand, assumptions package and support the developing and maintaining of the long-term outlook for power and fuel markets across Europe (partially Middle East).

        How You’ll Make an Impact

        Translate market trends into assumption scenarios for the major power markets in Europe (partially Middle East)

        Define and develop fundamental Electricity Market model forecast in focus markets together with our Business Analysts and Modelers (being able to model yourself with a forecasting software, e.g. Plexos/Aurora is a plus)

        Improvement of the market model and recommendations based on Data Analytics, Data visualization and customer feedback

        Analyze model results and translate them into insightful visualizations for our customers

        Support in business case evaluation in Europe (partially Middle East), as well as identify underperforming power assets in focus power markets, quantify the value proposition and structure a business case to enhance dispatch levels

        Presentation in front of Local and Regional Sales teams based on your understanding of energy markets, focus markets, and data analytics/visualizations to convey the message

        What You Bring / Skills, Capabilities

        Bachelor or Master in: Economics, Business, Engineering, IT or Natural sciences. Previous experience in consulting, finance, trading, energy markets is highly desirable

        Keen and demonstrated interest in Energy Power Markets in Europe, especially in what drives the changes in market dynamics that influence a market forecast

        We undertake a lot of complex analysis, a good proportion of which is numerical – so we are looking for people with an aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analysis. This includes the ability to pay attention to detail and use MS Excel proficiently

        Data visualization skills (i.e. PowerPoint, Power BI, Tableau) and ability to present model results and insights to different customers within the company

        Fluent in English, additional languages a plus

        Nice to have: Experience with Snowflake database from user perspective, Some programming experience (e.g. with Python, Pandas), Basic understanding of development processes, especially in cloud environments
