A Snapshot of Your Day 

The Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) Operator shall be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of water processing and treatment area of the combined cycle facility while adhering to company policies and procedures, applicable state and federal guidelines and other regulatory requirements. Ensures equipment is operated to within allowable parameters to meet required production requirements of the facility. Provides guidance as required to others to assist in resolving complex operational issues and to ensure personnel are properly trained and qualified for their positions.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Assist in start-up, shut-down, and normal operations of the ZLD for power plant’s needs.
  • Works with limited supervision and resolves most questions and problems that deviate from normal operating parameters.
  • Understands and adheres to all plant safety guidelines and procedures. Strives to maintain an injury-free environment. Actively participates in Plant Safety Committee meetings. Work in and support plant Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) program. Controls the ZLD system process through Allen Bradley control system and other process control devices. Monitors the operation and performance of the ZLD while on shift: takes appropriate action when necessary to ensure compliance of safety, efficiency, environmental and administrative guidelines.
  • Assists in completing daily, weekly and monthly maintenance actions, plant configuration changes and varying cake and water production levels. Operates the demineralized water production system/trailers and performs water quality testing to ensure water quality is produced within the required parameters. Identifies problems with ZLD equipment and clearly communicates the conditions associated with these problems to the Water Treatment Supervisor. Ensures problems are properly documented into the plant's computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Chemical tote handling is required. Participates in plant training and qualification program. Performs routine and preventative maintenance when plant conditions allow: assists Water Treatment Supervisor in shutdown-related maintenance and repair items. Performs local system and equipment cleanup on an ongoing basis. Participates in plant training and qualification programs.
  • Maintains positive community relations and fun work environment

 

What You Bring 

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma. Associate degree in power plant technology preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience. Basic computer skills with the proven ability to learn new software programs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, strong leadership skills. Dedicated learning abilities.
  • Ability to understand flow diagrams and P&I drawing. Good oral and written communication skills. High attention to detail.
  • Shift work with a willingness to work overtime as needed. Strong commitment to team success.
  • Legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer. Valid driver's license.
