A Snapshot of Your Day 

Join our specialized team of metallurgical experts and maximize your extensive knowledge of melting processes for steel, aluminum, titanium, and high-alloyed materials! You will work closely with suppliers to ensure optimal manufacturing practices, guiding them through process-related challenges to achieve the highest quality and performance standards. Imagine being a critical player in enhancing our melting techniques and solidification processes while contributing to the success of our global supply quality network!


How You’ll Make an Impact 
  • Act as the quality partner for the Raw Materials Global Commodity Manager, developing procurement strategies and driving standards for new material-related technology.
  • Improve steel making and raw material knowledge within the SE global supply quality network by leading a community of Supply Quality Engineers for training and knowledge sharing.
  • Take charge of cross-functional teams for Product and Process Qualification (PPQ) on raw material commodity parts, supervising project breakthroughs and resources.
  • Provide suppliers with primary technical advice on melting and metallurgical processes for various materials, ensuring adherence to standard processes.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and new technologies in melting processes and materials science to drive continuous improvement.

What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering, materials science or a similar discipline. Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered. An advanced degree is preferred.
  • At least 10 years’ professional experience in melting processes and metallurgy, specifically with steels, aluminum, titanium, and high-alloyed materials.
  • Deep understanding of melting techniques (e.g., vacuum melting, induction melting, arc melting, etc.), solidification processes, and material properties.
  • Knowledge of advanced melting technologies, such as electron beam melting (EBM) or plasma melting, and emerging technologies in the field of metallurgy.
  • Familiarity with advanced alloys, including nickel-based superalloys, titanium alloys, aluminum, and stainless steels used in the fabrication of Power Generation Products.
  • Experience leading people, projects and managing virtual cross-functional teams in an international environment. You are a self-starter, determined, and self-reliant. Your organizational, strategic, analytical thinking, leadership skills, and intercultural expertise complete your profile.
