A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Supplier Quality Engineer at Siemens Energy in Ulverston, you will help ensure our suppliers meet required standards by conducting qualifications, audits, and assessments. You’ll support the commodity and procurement teams while working closely with international colleagues. Your day involves addressing nonconformances, investigating root causes, and implementing preventative and risk mitigation measures to ensure reliable supplier performance.


How You'll Make an Impact

- Coordinate nonconformance processing at suppliers and drive preventative actions. 

- Monitor supplier KPIs and adjust quality, inspection, and development plans accordingly. 

- Support recurring qualification and supplier development meetings, identifying potential risks. 

- Conduct supplier capability assessments and audit their quality management systems. 

- Work with various quality tools and databases, ensuring data accuracy and transparency. 

- Represent Siemens Energy in all quality matters with suppliers. 

- Track and analyse non-conformances, implement corrective and preventative actions. 

- Support supplier selection and ensure delivery quality meets expectations. 

- Implement and manage risk-based SQM tools (e.g. 8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa). 

- Participate in external supplier audits (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, CoC, HSE). 

- Collaborate across functions (Procurement, Logistics, Engineering, Manufacturing). 

- Collect and evaluate key performance data and contribute to supplier reviews. 


What you Bring

- Bachelor’s degree in quality, mechanical or electrical engineering (Master’s preferred). 

- Experience in quality management, manufacturing, or purchasing. 

- Knowledge of Supplier Quality Management, Quality Control, and Risk Management. 

- Skilled in RCA tools: 8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa. 

- Proficiency in MS Office and SAP. 

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, team-oriented mindset. 

- Ability to prioritise effectively and work with rigour and organisation. 

- Willingness to travel up to 25%, including internationally when required.
