A Snapshot of Your Day
As a student worker in the Reliability Modelling team within the Product Integrity organization, your day will involve supporting essential data analysis and modelling tasks as well as development of our internal tools. You will engage in various activities, from preparing operational data to assisting with reliability modelling and tool development. This role will provide you with hands-on experience in a dynamic environment, enhancing your technical skills while contributing to Siemens Energy’s initiatives.
The position is part-time, requiring flexibility in your schedule to accommodate your studies.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Data Processing & Analysis
- Assist in collecting, cleaning, and preparing large datasets from wind turbine operations for reliability analysis.
- Perform exploratory data analysis under supervision
- Support the validation and quality control processes for data used in failure-rate or availability models.
- Generate basic data visualizations and summary reports to support the technical team.
Reliability Modelling Support
- Assist in running established scripts and simulations for existing reliability and performance models.
- Support the documentation of modelling methodologies, data sources, and simulation results.
- Contribute to the maintenance and testing of analytical tools and codebases (consisting of Shiny apps and R-packages) used by the team.
What You Bring
- Currently enrolled in a Master’s degree program in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical), Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
- Foundational knowledge of data analysis and statistics, with a strong willingness to learn and apply academic concepts in a professional setting.
- Skills in programming (Python or R) and Data visualization.
- Nice to have experience in: Version control and KQL.
- Personal competences: Attention to detail, structured and problem-solving attitude.
- English language skills
