A Snapshot of Your Day

Are you technically minded, curious about renewable energy and eager to build a career in a growing industry? Whether you are a recent graduate or have gained technical knowledge through your studies or hands-on experience, we would like to hear from you. At Siemens Gamesa, we believe that motivation, a willingness to learn and a strong safety mindset are the foundations for success. We will provide the training and support needed to help you develop into a skilled service technician for our wind farm in Lestijärvi, Finland.
As a service technician, you will perform technical, primarily predefined tasks as part of our service delivery for customers’ wind turbines. These tasks mainly include troubleshooting, annual maintenance, and various inspections. The Lestijärvi site is large, and while some technicians are stationed on-site, you will also support other wind farms within a radius of up to 300 km, working with the same turbine models. For us, the knowledge and commitment of our staff are key to our success. You will therefore begin your employment with an internship at Siemens Gamesa’s training center abroad.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Carrying out improvement measures and modifications, as well as participating in preparations when required
  • Solving problems on-site together with colleagues and support teams, using electrical and mechanical expertise to ensure high operational reliability and excellent service quality
  • Ensuring that all work is carried out with safety as the highest priority. For electrical work, we follow the SFS 6002 electrical safety standard
  • Reporting and documenting work with high quality and sufficient detail
  • Monitoring, coordinating, and following up on assignments performed by subcontractors

What You Bring

  • At least high school education with a technical orientation. Electrical or mechanical background is highly desired
  • Previous experience in wind power, electricity, mechanics, or hydraulics is advantageous but not a requirement. We are open to train the right person to perform the job.
  • A valid driver’s license
  • Fluency in English and Finnish is required
  • Good computer skills
  • Good physical condition and comfortable working at heights

As a person you are proactive, customer-focused, and service-minded. You have a genuine technical interest, enjoy learning new things, and can solve problems independently. You are also responsible, detail-oriented, and maintain a strong safety mindset.
Most importantly, you challenge yourself and your colleagues to achieve the best results. You have high professional competence and a desire to develop your skills. You have good cooperation skills and are able to act in different cultural contexts. To thrive in this position, you must have a strong results- and customer-oriented approach, without compromising on safety.

Please note that an approved health check and drug test are required prior to starting employment.

About the Team

You will be joining a team of 9 technicians, soon growing to 10, working across multiple wind farm sites within a radius of up to 300 km. The team operates on similar turbine models, providing consistency in the technical work while offering variety through different site environments. The role involves a mix of working independently and alongside team members, depending on the site and task. The Lestijärvi site itself is large and some technicians may be stationed on-site while others rotate between locations. This setup offers the opportunity to gain broad hands-on experience across different sites and develop strong technical expertise in a dynamic service environment.
