Über die Aufgabe
A Snapshot of Your Day
Join our offshore operations team as Service Technician and take charge of keeping three wind farms performing at their best. Starting at 06:30, you’ll check the health of the wind farm systems, prepare and present your daily toolbox talk to technicians, and coordinate stop/starts for turbines as work begins. You’ll plan upcoming tasks, prepare work packages, and ensure all parts and resources are ready. Throughout the day, you’ll handle technical queries from colleagues, customers, or the site manager and respond quickly to safety or operational issues. At the end of the shift, you’ll meet the teams returning onboard, review the day’s work and feedback, and finalize the handover for the next rotation. It’s a dynamic, hands-on role where you balance careful organization with the agility to act fast when challenges arise.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Lead on safety across the wind farm, ensuring accurate reporting of incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, and making sure all activities comply with SGRE standards and local legislation.
- Produce, manage, and develop essential technical and safety documentation, risk assessments, and method statements, while delivering concise toolbox talks.
- Act as the technical lead for resolving service technology and field staff queries, providing remote diagnosis and direct supervision during critical tasks.
- Support coordinators and technicians with work preparation and on-site technical troubleshooting, ensuring smooth and compliant operations.
- Mentor and develop technician competency, guiding both SGRE and customer teams to meet high standards.
What You Bring
- 3+ years as a troubleshooting wind turbine technician, ideally with an electro/mechanical background and strong electrical skills.
- Proven supervisory experience with effective people management abilities.
- Strong organizational skills, able to meet tight deadlines while tackling urgent issues with focus and composure.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken; Dutch fluency is desirable.
- An EHS qualification or demonstrable experience working where safety is the top priority.
- Willingness to work a 14-on/14-off offshore shift rotation.
About the Team
Based in Ostend, Belgium, the Rentel Seamade site has been delivering high performance for 8 years—operating from an SOV vessel for the last 4 on a 14/14 rotation. Covering three geographically spread wind farms from a single vessel, the team has built a strong, collaborative relationship with the wind farm owner and is dedicated to maintaining it. You’ll join an offshore crew of 22 permanent staff split into two shifts, supported by local contractors during the campaign season.
