Position Title: Sales Assistant Steam Turbine Service / Assistant Commercial Machines

A Snapshot of Your Day

Sales Assistant at Siemens Energy

You will be part of our regional hub sales support team for Compression and Steam Turbine preparing customer quotes for spare parts opportunities, repair opportunities as well as full outage projects incl. Field service. This position will advise and support Client Managers to determine customer needs and to identify service opportunities. You will coordinate between the Product Competence Centers (PCCs) and various collaborators (i.e., supply chain, engineering, manufacturing, service project management, client managers). This role will report to the Managing Director (Siemens Energy West and Central Africa - French speaking countries) and will be coached by the Senior Area Sales Professional. It will be based out in Abidjan, Ivory Coast. He/she shall support our business activities in the Region.

How You’ll Make an Impact  

  • Receive the Request for Quotations (RFQ)from the customers.
  • Analyse, clarify if necessary and ask for quotation from the relevant factory or Product Competence Centre.
  • Prepare the Siemens Energy Technical and Commercial offer in accordance with the internal guidelines.
  • Submit the offer to the end customer and follow up until reception of the Purchase Order.
  • Provide administrative, technical and commercial support to Sales teammates
  • Work to create and develop scope of proposals/offers together with other departments and entities.
  • Engagement and collaboration with other departments and entities to handle orders.
  • Participate in process improvement activities.
  • Represent the organization in a professional manner, both internally and externally
  • Follow the published processes and align with all company policies and procedures
  • Be an ambassador for businesses and to ensure that Health & Safety always comes first

What You Bring 

  • Technical Profile with Sales or Sales profile with technical skills
  • Motivated and energetic person with a growth mindset.
  • BAC +2/3 or BTS or Bachelor’s degree preferably in the Energy or Oil & Gas sector or equivalent experience in Business Administration or related.
  • Mechanical or Energy related culture is a plus and knowledge of Sales cycles and processes (Sales administration)
  • Knowledge of CRM Tool Salesforce.com (or other similar system) appreciated and experience of MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Access) is essential
  • Previous Experience with tender compilation/preparation is preferred
  • Strong Business Acumen and Commercial sense and methodical with a high level of attention to detail
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to succeed, good interpersonal skills and a great teammate and effective communication skills
  • Experience in working with Sales calculations
  • Other requirements include:
  • Fluent in English and French
