As part of our mission to energize society and design the difference for future generations, we are hiring a senior or staff level engineer to support the SGT‑A05 product line in Indianapolis, Indiana. In this role, you’ll take on meaningful, hands-on work - sustaining legacy products while advancing new designs that define the future of small gas turbines.  You’ll collaborate closely with colleagues in Indianapolis and partners across our global network, with ample opportunities for mentorship, cross-functional projects, and continuous development.  Join a team culture that values technical excellence, open collaboration, and a shared passion for advancing engineering.

 

 

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Contribute to the conceptual, basic, and detailed design of small gas turbine components, sub-systems, and systems.
  • Oversee the development of complete product definitions of a wide variety of gas turbine components including sumps, shafting, rotors, housings, and more.
  • Conduct advanced rotordynamic analyses of gas turbines in installed and uninstalled conditions.
  • Conduct advanced vibration analyses on systems and components.
  • Provide hands-on support to manufacturing and suppliers: troubleshoot issues, collaborate on problem solving, disposition product deviations, review processes, and implement design improvements.
  • Investigate product issues to identify root causes and define and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, suppliers, and manufacturing teams through precise instructions, specifications, and reports.

 

 

What You Bring 

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 25+ years of experience with gas turbine design and analysis.
  • Expert in rotordyamics of gas turbines.
  • Expert in whole engine vibration and balancing of rotating gas turbine components.
  • Strong background in sump design, test cells, manufacturing, shafting, and other gas turbine components.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
