A Snapshot of Your Day

Siemens Energy is looking for a skilled Quality Engineer to join our team and help us maintain the highest standards of excellence at Power Transformers Charlotte. Working along with multiple internal and external stakeholders, the successful candidate will collaborate to shape a dedicated and lean quality management system, quality programs, risk analysis and continuous improvement practices, in a dynamic and positive environment.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the quality management system.
  • Collaborate in the development and maintenance of business and manufacturing documentation, ensuring processes and procedures are accurately followed.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders on quality issues, audits, and certifications.
  • Ensure compliance with national and international standards and legislation, especially ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
  • Creates transparent and open environment for quality culture together with management.
  • Foster continuous improvement initiatives, applying pertinent methodologies to enhance product quality.
  • Gives guidance that risks are identified, considered and controlled throughout the design and the use of the quality management system.
  • Creates real-time transparency for ad-hoc analysis, instant decision making, preventive action and continuous improvement.
  • Drives innovative digital solutions to improve quality by thinking outside of the box, coaching and fostering the application of creativity methods.
  • Trains employees in a specific quality area.
  • Ensures, implements, and assess quality related standards and legal requirements in a specific quality area, or in organizational unit(s) assigned.
  • Ensures effective cooperation with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinates with business unit and region network on quality strategies, policies and programs.
  • Coordinates a group of quality related staff without leading the team.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field) or business administration.
  • 5 or more years of experience in quality management or quality assurance in the Transformer manufacturing industry or a related field. Candidates with more experience can be considered for a higher level or vice versa.
  • Strong understanding of quality control standards specific to the Transformers manufacturing industry.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis and quality improvement tools, such as SPC, FMEA, Root Cause Analysis, and Six Sigma.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and other relevant quality management systems.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work optimally with team members and external partners.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and quality management software.
  • Effective English language skills (spoken, written and comprehension).
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
