A Snapshot of Your Day

You will be actively working to support the mechanical integrity analyses of the TurboCracker product and work with the rest of the team to advance the product through development and application.

How You will Make an Impact

  • Structural analysis of turbomachinery components and systems from concept definition through detailed design, focusing first on prototype development and then on future product definition
  • Mechanical integrity analyses (Stress, LCF, HCF, modal, creep) of turbomachinery components (e.g., casings, nozzle vanes, blades and disks, combustor transition ducts, or combustor liners)
  • Lead/support design reviews as required. Contribute to the development of MI related practices, processes and tools required to support the TurboCracker product line
  • Support turbomachinery testing and data analysis
  • Actively contribute to small, focused design teams to support technology and product development project objectives
  • Knowledge and/or experience with thermal analyses of hot gas path turbomachinery components is a plus

What you Bring

  • Advanced degree (M.S.) in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering
  • 5+ years’ experience in turbomachinery mechanical integrity analysis (gas turbines and/or compressors)
  • Experience in the mechanical integrity and/or thermal analyses of stationary and rotating turbomachinery components with emphasis on the design of expanders and/or turbine hot section.
  • Expert knowledge of commerical analytical software packages e.g. ANSYS or ABAQUS; Experience with Siemens NX/Simcenter 3D is an advantage.
  • Experience in product design
  • Knowledge of API design standards for compressors, gas turbines, and expanders
  • Technical aptitude in turbomachinery disciplines (aerodynamic, thermodynamics, dynamics, machine design)
  • Experience and familiarity in performing both thermal and structural analyses preferred
  • Experience with turbomachinery testing, instrumentation and test data analysis is a plus
  • Availability to travel domestically or international as required up to 15%.
