The Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing vehicles or equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. This role performs routine maintenance, troubleshoots mechanical issues, and completes repairs according to company standards and manufacturer guidelines. The Mechanic works closely with service advisors, shop supervisors, and customers to deliver high-quality workmanship in a timely manner.

How You’ll Make an Impact

Technical & Repair Duties

  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools and manuals.
  • Perform repairs on engines, brakes, suspensions, transmissions, drivetrains, HVAC systems, and other components.
  • Conduct routine and preventive maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, tire rotations, and fluid checks.
  • Concerns to inspect vehicles/equipment for safety and performance.
  • Complete warranty repairs following manufacturer procedures.
  • Test repaired vehicles/equipment to verify proper operation.

Shop & Documentation Responsibilities

  • Accurately document all repairs, parts used, and labor hours in shop management systems.
  • Follow all safety protocols and OSHA guidelines to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and workstations in proper working condition.
  • Assist in ordering parts and managing inventory when required.
  • Provide recommendations for additional repairs or maintenance based on inspections.

What You Bring

  • Mechanical aptitude and hands-on repair experience.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic software, hand tools, and shop equipment.
  • Ability to read technical manuals, diagrams, and repair instructions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Work environment can include working outdoors or indoors on repairs.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, and climbing to inspect or repair equipment.
  • Regular lifting and handling of tools, parts, and materials up to 50 lbs; occasional lifting up to 75 lbs with assistance.
  • Prolonged standing and walking throughout the facility during shift.
  • Ability to operate hand tools and power tools requiring manual dexterity and grip strength.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, elevated areas, and varying temperatures (hot/cold environments).
