A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Material Inventory Planner at Siemens Energy – Vanes & Blades Tampa, you will focus on planning and coordinating material flow and estimating inventory required to support production schedules of multiple manufacturing areas in the facility!

In this role, you will be working closely with the Scheduling team to understand the levels of material inventory required to support daily targets for multiple production areas, define action plans with the Procurement team to ensure correct material volumes are released on purchase orders (POs) to ensure material on-time delivery and review /adjust inventory level with Finance team!

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Supervising the inventory team to ensure adherence to the SIOP process, while maintaining accuracy between physical inventory and the SAP system.
  • Replenishing all stock parts accordingly, documenting all material movements and transactions within the existing inventory management program in a timely manner, and securing control of inbound and outbound flow of deliveries and pick-ups at internal inventory warehouses.
  • Conducting spot counts, monthly cycle counts, mid and year-end inventory counts, and annual physical inventory counts, while reconciling discrepancies, documenting results, and defining and implementing improvement opportunities.
  • Leading and reconciling inventory accounts to ensure financial accuracy and compliance, while overseeing third-party inventory (OSS).
  • Cross-functionally collaborating with the accounting and procurement departments to ensure adherence to internal controls, managing PO/Invoice approval for inventory accounts, and coordinating with internal and external auditors to develop efficient controls, respond to audit requests, and address audit findings.
  • Understanding coding practices (spend categories, cost centers, etc.) and collaborating with the Master Scheduler to provide accurate schedules to manufacturing.
  • Helping to manage and reduce aging or excess inventory that has already been produced or purchased, and estimating alloy requirements required to support production plans.

What You Bring

  • Associate's degree with 5+ years of demonstrated experience in supply chain or materials planning through a manufacturing environment.
  • A High School diploma OR GED and a minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience may be considered in place of an Associate's degree.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey sophisticated and/or detailed information to multiple individuals with differing knowledge levels.
  • Familiarity with component manufacturing processes, quality systems, Six Sigma, and other lean principles.
  • Team-oriented, customer-focused, time management skills.
  • Analytical ability and sophisticated problem-solving skills.
  • Strong MRP background.
  • Proficient in SAP and MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, and limited PowerPoint).
  • Outstanding Excel skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance or direction.
  • Resourcefulness as well as time-management skills
  • A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail are required.
  • Legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States (not requiring employer-sponsored work authorization now or in the future for employment in the U.S.).
