A Snapshot of Your Day

Join Siemens Energy as the Head of Engineering for Medium Voltage Transformer Stations and lead a high-performing team shaping the future of MV/LV substations, compact stations, and data-center power nodes. You’ll set engineering standards, approve key design decisions, and drive best-in-class practices for projects ranging from 10–36 kV. Imagine owning the technical roadmap for transformer station solutions, ensuring every design is robust, compliant, and cost-effective. You’ll collaborate closely with sales, project teams, and manufacturing to deliver scalable, innovative solutions that power critical infrastructure and support the global energy transition. Step into a role where your expertise fuels innovation and your leadership shapes the next generation of energy systems.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Lead and govern MV station engineering, defining standards, technical rules, and approving key design concepts while ensuring consistent best‑practice application across all regions.
  • Own and standardize MV transformer station designs, including MV/LV stations, compact substations, indoor/outdoor MV substations, and data‑center MV nodes, driving modularization and creation of standard BOMs and design libraries.
  • Ensure robust protection, control, and grid compliance, covering relay coordination, SCADA/remote control, metering, and adherence to IEC/EN/IEEE standards, acting as technical authority with utilities and hyperscale customers.
  • Support project execution end‑to‑end, offering guidance during technical clarifications, design reviews, FAT/SAT, and site challenges, resolving complex engineering issues and ensuring right‑first‑time deliverables.
  • Lead value engineering and competitiveness initiatives, optimizing footprint, materials, losses, cooling, installation efforts, and supporting Sales/Tendering with technical concepts, risk assessments, and deviations.
  • Drive quality, safety, compliance, and innovation, ensuring adherence to safety and regulatory standards, leading RCA/lessons learned, supporting audits, and enabling readiness for digital substations, hybrid AC/DC, sustainability, and future technologies.

What You Bring

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, ideally with a focus on Power Systems.
  • 10–15+ years of experience in MV engineering, substations, or power distribution, including leadership of engineering teams.
  • Proven expertise in MV switchgear (AIS/GIS), MV/LV transformers, and protection & control systems for utility and industrial substations.
  • Strong knowledge of IEC standards (62271, 60076, 61936, 61439) and MV system design up to 36 kV.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with a structured, risk-aware engineering mindset and a strong technical authority and decision-making capability.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is required; any additional language is a nice to have.

About the Team

You’ll join a passionate engineering team dedicated to delivering robust, scalable solutions for medium-voltage transformer stations. The team’s mission is to ensure technical competitiveness, compliance, and cost efficiency across all MV/LV substations, compact stations, and data-center power nodes. You’ll work closely with colleagues in sales, project management, manufacturing, and quality, as well as with external partners such as utilities, EPCs, and data-center operators. The team thrives on innovation, embracing new technologies like digital substations, hybrid AC/DC interfaces, and sustainable station designs. Collaboration and knowledge sharing are at the heart of our culture, and we support each other to solve complex challenges and deliver outstanding results. You’ll have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of our engineering processes.
