The Head of EHS provides strategic leadership, governance, and long-term direction for Health, Safety and Environment, in close alignment with the Head of Environment, Sustainability and Social Responsibility and Head of Quality Management, across GT SO. The role ensures regulatory compliance while deliberately going beyond formal requirements to embed prevention, responsibility, and safety ownership as core leadership principles. Reporting to the Head of GT SO EQS and working closely with executive leadership, this role shapes and drives the EHS strategy, governance model, and transformation roadmap. It ensures that EHS is consistently treated as a value-driven leadership responsibility, integral to sound and responsible decision-making. The role contributes to creating an environment in which decisions across projects and operations consistently reflect a long-term commitment to the safety, health, and well-being of people, as well as environmental stewardship.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Strategic EHS Leadership & Governance: Define, strengthen, and govern a robust Global EHS Management System aligned with Siemens Energy EQS frameworks and ISO 14001 / ISO 45001, embedding EHS criteria consistently into business, tendering, and contracting decisions.
- Contractor Governance & Partnerships: Strengthen contractor governance while fostering trust-based partnerships, promoting transparent subcontracting models and shared EHS accountability across the entire contractor value chain.
- Safety Ownership & Culture: Embed Safety Ownership at all organizational levels through principles such as “Zone it – Own it,” supported by the Safety Culture Ladder, visible leadership, and consistent role modeling.
- Capability Building & Learning Culture: Strengthen onboarding and training—particularly for contractors—while fostering a strong learning culture that translates incidents, near misses, and operational experience into continuous improvement.
- Digitalization, Data & Predictive Safety: Advance digital Permit-to-Work systems and leverage AI and data analytics for pattern recognition, predictive risk analysis, leadership dashboards, and risk-based training recommendations.
- Safety by Design & Prevention: Integrate EHS considerations early into engineering, design, and project planning to proactively identify and mitigate risks through preventive, design-led solutions.
