A Snapshot of Your Day

As a GIS Service Supervisor, you will be part of the Grid Technology Service Substation Upgrades team. In this role, you will work on Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) Service projects, which involve tasks such as assembly, testing, commissioning, maintenance, service, repair, refurbishment, and upgrades for our existing installations across North America.

 

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Assist in the supervision and coordination of GIS testing and commissioning projects at the job site under the guidance of senior staff.
  • Support the development and implementation of testing procedures and protocols to ensure compliance with industry standards and specifications.
  • Participate in thorough testing and performance analysis of GIS and associated equipment to contribute to operational readiness.
  • Aid in managing and instructing contractors and field personnel in the execution of testing and commissioning activities.
  • Collaborate with customers and project partners to support the successful completion of testing and commissioning scope.
  • Work alongside engineering and project management teams to learn how to address any technical issues that arise during the testing phase.
  • Help in the development of project documentation, including test plans, reports, and compliance records.
  • Ensure that all activities are performed in a timely, effective, safe, and cost-efficient manner.
  • Provide support and customer service to clients and project stakeholders throughout the testing and commissioning process.

 

What You Bring 

  • A strong willingness to learn and develop skills in GIS testing and commissioning.
  • Basic technical knowledge and understanding of the Siemens Energy GIS portfolio is a plus, but not required.
  • Prior experience in GIS testing, commissioning, or related fields is preferred, but training will be provided for the right candidate.
  • Experience working on construction sites is beneficial.
  • Proficiency in computer skills and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Attributes such as self-confidence, a strong work ethic, teamwork, coordination, and dedication.
  • Willingness to travel; up to 90%+ domestic travel may be required as projects demand.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
