A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR DAY
To maximise production OTD >95% to the highest quality standards <10,000PPM’s in order to achieve the budgeted annual output whilst ensuring Health and Safety accountability.
To achieve this the Fitter performs a sequence of predefined, specialized and different mechanic assembly operations, which includes specialized testing and problem analysis, in cooperation with a team of differently qualified assembly technicians.
HOW YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT
- Fitting / Electrical background desirable but all other mechanical fields considered.
- Good mechanical assembly experience essential.
- Electrical knowledge of HV and PD testing desirable.
- Fibre Optic experience desirable
- Experience of working in a class 5 & 7 cleanroom an advantage.
- High level of IT competence required.
- Ensure the highest level of Health and Safety is observed and followed in every aspect within the production environment and every task performed.
- Zero Harm; Understand the 6 Elements and ensure the safety basics are in place for all activities.
- STOP; If you believe a process is unsafe STOP the activity complete a stop card and report it.
- Assemble, Terminate and Test the full range of subsea connectors of all product types including TSC; EFL Hose; Instrumentation; Power; Optics and Ethernet.
- Build of connector assemblies and sub-assemblies strictly in accordance with build procedures, drawings, quality plans.
- Electrical testing of connector assemblies strictly in accordance with test procedures and quality plans.
- Hydrostatically testing of connector assemblies strictly in accordance with test procedures and quality plans.
- Complete all solder terminations to the highest quality ensuring they are in accordance with the soldering procedure.
- Complete all build records and test sheets to the highest quality.
- Contributes to planning and effective resource allocation in the production group (mechanic assembly).
- Plans own work steps in cooperation with other team members.
- Performs a set of qualified assembly operations, which may includes all electronic, electro-mechanic and mechanic assemblies or sub-assemblies. Strictly in accordance with test Assembly and Test procedures
- Constantly monitors availability of parts, tools and machines needed to complete product in the relevant subsequent steps of the overall assembly process.
- Uses specific equipment and/or a range of specialized tools and machines, and maintains functionality.
- Contributes to plan, execute and analyze the results of test routines and procedures, often in a complex test environment
- Assists in resolving routine manufacturing related problems affecting daily operations.
- Business Improvements, review your daily tasks, look for Quality and Production improvements, complete the Idea Evaluation Form and move your ideas forward.
- Report defective components to the Material Review Board (MRB)
- Mentor and train new employees and apprentices.
- Accompany customer / third party witnesses during build and test processes.
- Maintain good housekeeping techniques and practices.
- To undertake any ad- hoc tasks or duties as requested by the Assembly Manager / Cell Leader.
