A Snapshot of Your Day (position overview)

Siemens Energy Blades & Vanes Manufacturing is seeking a Financial Analyst to be an integral member of this highly visible, dynamic and hard-working team. You will coordinate local factory finance activities to ensure accurate and transparent financial reporting for the Gibsonton blade & vane casting factory. Other activities include balance sheet valuation, product cost analysis, forecast development, budgeting, month end closing while supporting line management in analysis, KPI / P&L monitoring, both ad hoc and routine.

How You’ll Make an Impact (responsibilities)

  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial results for the manufacturing facility, including variance analysis versus budget, forecast, and prior periods, along with actuals reporting.
  • Support month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and corporate reporting requirements.
  • Lead budget (annual) and forecasting (monthly) preparation and analysis, integrating insights from operational and financial performance.
  • Maintain and analyze standard costs, bill of materials (BOMs), labor rates, and overhead absorption while analyzing manufacturing variances (material, labor, overhead, scrap, yield, and efficiency).
  • Support inventory accounting, including cycle counts, physical inventories, reserves, and obsolescence analysis.
  • Partner with operations to identify cost drivers, improvement opportunities, and support audits (internal and external), including responding to audit inquiries.

What You Bring (requirements)

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in finance, business administration.
  • 1 to 5+ years of experience in operational controlling and cost accounting; more experienced candidates may be considered for a higher-level role.
  • Strong understanding of cost center structures, costing rates, allocations, burdens, and basic technical processes.
  • Effective and concise communication skills, with the ability to consolidate financial topics into clear management presentations.
  • Flexible and proactive mindset with a willingness to improve processes and continuously develop personal skills.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
