A Snapshot of Your Day

In your role as a fact-finding engineer for industrial generators, you will be responsible for on-site condition diagnostics of air-cooled generators of various types and designs, with power ratings ranging from ~15 to 300 MVA, as part of national and global service projects. In addition to visual inspection of all major machine components (stator, rotor, excitation, bearings) and auxiliary equipment (e.g., coolers) based on defined criteria, the condition assessment also includes performing electrical diagnostic measurements (measurement of winding resistances, insulation resistances, diode tests, loss factor and partial discharge measurement etc.) on high- and low-voltage windings, including their evaluation in accordance with applicable standards.

The compilation and presentation of findings to our external customers and internal partners, collaboration with and support for Service Engineering in the development of optimization and repair measures, as well as close communication with project management and service sales to support sales strategy goals, round out this independent, exciting, and varied role.

How You’ll Make an Impact
