A Snapshot of Your Day 
As a Mechanical Engineer (f/m/d) you lead and implement projects in the realm of process gas cooler design and implementation. Those process gas coolers compliment rotating equipment in our industrial applications for integrally geared compressors. It includes the preparation of design specifications, application of materials, sizing & selection, disposition of operational problems, and communication with other project staff, suppliers, and customers. You support our suppliers during execution phase by participating and completing expediting and inspection visits. After delivery, the team provides back-office technical support for installation, commissioning, and warranty phases.

How You’ll Make an Impact 
  • Complete and design projects with process gas coolers, ensuring optimum performance and efficiency
  • Conducting engineering calculations for sizing and selecting of coolers as well as authoring technical specifications for purchase of complete systems
  • Conduct design validations, ensuring they meet Siemens Energy design standards and guidelines, customer specifications and applicable statutory requirements for the installation location
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, suppliers, and customers to provide expert mechanical engineering support and guidance throughout the project lifecycle
  • Fix and resolve any mechanical engineering challenges that may arise during the execution of projects
  • Supporting suppliers during execution phase by participating and driving expediting and inspection visits
  • After delivery, the team provides back-office support for installation, commissioning, and warranty phases
  • Review existing process engineering and make necessary changes to support project execution when vital

What You Bring
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical or Systems Engineering
  • 5+ years of combined experience in technical roles (e.g. Engineering, Proposals, Manufacturing, and/or Services) related to the design and development and or execution of process gas coolers supplied for centrifugal geared compressors
  • Relevant knowledge of heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics
  • Demonstrable command of industry standards and codes used for design and specification of process gas coolers 
  • Peer-recognized for solving sophisticated problems, developing new business processes, and demonstrating high professional judgement in ambiguous circumstances
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Office, Teams, or similar environments)
  • Fluent English, German preferred
