A Snapshot of Your Day

The Project Manager plays a crucial role in delivering solutions for the Compression Business. These solutions will either be product focused, such as new features or improvements, or they will be internal initiatives that improve how we deliver our work. Whatever the goal, the Project Manager is responsible for leading the scope, budget, and schedule, ensuring solutions are delivered in line with the project requirements and boundaries, and maintaining Siemens Energy’s competitive position. This role involves actively collaborating with global teams including technical teams, portfolio managers, supply chain, sales and marketing, engineering, senior management, and other customers.

For clarity, this role is not responsible for delivering external customer orders.

How You’ll Make an Impact
  • You will work with the Compression leadership team to establish, launch, monitor, and deliver projects. You will engage relevant customers to identify project scope and clarify requirements, ensuring these elements are documented and team members have bought into the solution roadmap. You will initiate the project by setting clear targets and boundaries.
  • You will collaborate with Subject Matter Experts and Resource Owners to create project plans, obtain resource commitments, and manage the project in line with the appropriate processes. You are fully accountable for the delivery of the defined scope.
  • You implement projects within the approved boundaries (e.g. Requirements Specification, functionality, target costs, project cost, time, quality, customer satisfaction) and lead the global cross-functional team towards the established goals.
  • You ensure business success and customer satisfaction through professional partner management, identifying Project KPI’s, and effectively managing communication to report project status and forecast, while acting as the single point of contact for stakeholder queries.
  • You represent the project in all review meetings, negotiate resource requirements & project priority, and act as an entrepreneur throughout project execution by being proactive in finding opportunities or hurdles, and ensure timely decisions of open issues, advancing when necessary.
  • You balance the project scope through Change Management and manage risk by devising and planning suitable strategies for risk mitigation. You coach, lead, and motivate the team, even when faced with unexpected challenges, while recognizing and congratulating strong performances by the team, or taking action upon seeing areas for improvement.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering. A master’s degree is a plus.
  • Strong leadership skills, highly motivated, and a passion for continuous improvement.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively under pressure.
  • Experience and proficiency with project management software (e.g. MS Project & Jira)
  • Experience and knowledge of Lean and Agile methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strengths and experience developing, monitoring, and controlling project plans in an R&D or engineering environment.
  • Knowledge of turbomachinery products and product development practices.
  • Fluent in English.
